Principal's Messages

Founded in 1963, Tsuen Wan St. Francis Xavier's School was established by the Marist Brothers, with the five core values of the Marist spirit—namely, Presence, Family Spirit, Love of Work, Simplicity, and the Way of Mary—serving as the foundation for the education and development of students. Over the past 60 years, it has built an excellent reputation, nurturing students to become future leaders with a sense of identity and an international perspective, excelling academically while also processing a sense of social responsibility. Our vision is to develop students into capable individuals and responsible citizens of integrity, equipped with Christian values to serve the community with compassion and dedication. We strive to create an environment where every student feels valued and cared for, promoting their potential and fostering a sense of belonging and commitment to the greater good.

SF-Xaverians are characterized by the following six core values:

  1. BrotherhoodEmphasizing unity and solidarity, this value fosters a supportive community where individuals look out for one another, embodying the family spirit of St. Francis Xavier.
  2. Presence: Valuing "walking together with brothers in joy and sorrow," it encourages students to engage in genuine interactions, embodying the life of imitating the way of Mary.
  3. Kindness: Highlighting empathy for others, this value embodies the care that St. Francis Xavier has for others and encourages the establishment of good relationships.
  4. Perseverance: Encompassing resilience and a passion for learning, encouraging students to embrace challenges and view failures as opportunities for growth.
  5. Integrity: Focusing on honest and responsible behaviour, it emphasizes making ethical decisions and reflects the simplicity and sincerity of St. Francis Xavier.
  6. Responsibility: Highlighting tthe relationship between the individual and the community, promoting actions that fulfill responsibilities to family and society.

In summary, the core values of SF-Xaverians—Brotherhood, Presence, Kindness, Perseverance, Integrity, and Responsibility—reflect the spirit of St. Francis Xavier and our commitment to nurturing compassionate, resilient and global leaders. As we strive to embody these principles in our daily lives, we are reminded of the words of St. Marcellin Champagnat, the founder of the Marist Brothers, who profoundly expressed, “To educate children well, one must love them and love them all equally.” This timeless quote beautifully encapsulates the essence of our educational philosophy and resonates deeply with our school motto: “Integrity and Universal Love.”
